Jared Hamman receives next booking, drops to Middleweight


Current UFC Light Heavyweight Jared Hamman today received his latest fight booking, but it wasn't at 205 pounds.

In hope of finding more success in the UFC, Hamman confirmed that he was moving down to 185 pounds, more commonly known as Middleweight.

Morrison misses weight, Bellator 44 fight cancelled



A planned Bellator 44 fight between Anthony Morrison (15-9 1NC MMA, 0-0 BFC) and Bryan Goldsby (13-13 MMA, 1-2 BFC) was cancelled yesterday due to Morrison failing to make weight by a massive 10.5 pounds, eventually weighing in at 146.5 pounds, which actually misses weight in the higher weight class of Featherweight, which is set at 145 pounds with a 1 pound allowance.

Maiquel Falcão released from the UFC



In one of the most surprising releases in recent memory, news has broken today that Maiquel "Big Rig" Falcão (26-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has been released by the promotion. The early reason for Falcão's release is due to surroundings of his probation, which is stemming from a 2002 assault charge in which Falcão is alleged to have hit a woman.

Edgar and Maynard injured, UFC 130 bout cancelled (UPDATED)



Is the UFC's Lightweight division cursed? Anthony Pettis must think so.

After a draw in their second meeting, current UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard were scheduled to meet at UFC 130 to settle their differences once and for all. Unfortunately, injuries to both fighters have forced their withdrawal from the card altogether.

Edgar has reportedly suffered broken ribs, while Maynard has suffered a knee injury. UFC President Dana White confirmed the injuries to MMAFighting.com's Mike Chiappetta this afternoon.
